Right away we saw some wildlife! A whole bunch of Elk were milling around by the visitor buildings. ![]()
And then (because we were a little pressed for time) it was right back on the road for some more driving....
We did however slow the car for a quick sighting of these guys! ![]()
Dazzle really wasn't too impressed with hoofed mammals that are about half a mile away from us.
So do the little Pronghorns......
But Bison!
At least they come in big groups!
On we went to more view points.....
More Bison!
Some orange and green goo in the water. Very pretty, and sort of creepy too.
A break in the usual stuff as we drove through a wildfire - a pretty big one at that.
More Bison!
Although I accidentally covered him up with the watermark. oops.
The sun started going down way too early. We had a lot more to see!
but setting sun does make for better pictures....
The water of course was very clear though! And very happy - it bounces all over the place.![]()
Look at that water go!
Not all the water was happy though, some was a bit blue.
Poor tree. Victim of angry water.
*POP*
Mud bubbles were fun to watch.
We were almost done with our one day of a park you can't see in one day, but we couldn't go before stopping by to watch Old Faithful!
waiting. waiting. waiting.
*POOF*
A lot of people watched it poof.
After the poof we started heading out of the park. Taking a brief pause for the divide....![]()
*sniff*
Green holes in the ground are pretty fun too...![]()
The real reason for our stop wasn't actually for exploding mud, it was to see the largest high-altitude lake.
But I am always happy to see a little more happy water!
Oooooo! Blue holes in the ground!
Blue holes are prettier than green holes.
And we actually did get to see some more hoofed critters. A little herd of Elk stopped by for a visit.

Dazzle was just happy that we were finally leaving this (to her) boring place!
